Anything and everything
Who I played
what i learned
How i grew
In Anything and Everything, I played Charlotte, a headstrong dreamer and painter. She is in love with her best friend, who, unbeknownst to her, loves her back. Due to the time period that they are in, their feelings must be kept secret. In the play, the two confess their love for each other, ending in a romantic dance.
In this play, I learned how many layers a relationship can have, and how that can affect the way a character is portrayed. Balancing Charlotte's true feelings on top of her facade taught me how complex an objective really can be.
This was one of the first pieces that I directed, and working as a co-director while acting helped me grow in both disciplines. Learning how to balance a technical brain (blocking, creating a light and sound cue sheet, communicating with my designers and stage manager) and acting made me a more organized, professional artist.
